Helena Halterman

Helena grew up in Massachusetts and attended Stonehill College where she received her bachelor of science degree in biology. Her interest in pharmacology brought her to Johnson Compounding and Wellness Center where she worked as a technician in their pharmacy as well as a customer service representative in their Wellness department. There she developed a greater understanding of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, including nutritional supplements and homeopathic remedies.

Helena went on to study nursing and received her bachelor’s degree from Umass Amherst. She worked at McLean Hospital for 3 years as a psychiatric nurse treating patients with mood and personality disorders. After obtaining her master’s degree in nursing from Regis College, she worked as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at a private practice where she treated a wide range of disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, and personality disorders.

With a passion for holistic medicine, Helena believes in an integrative approach to healthcare. She considers the full context of the mind, body and spirit, works to educate patients on their treatment options, and engages patients in the decision-making process. She aspires to create a judgement-free environment where patients can freely express their concerns and be met with understanding.
