The First Time You Meet Us
When we first meet, we’ll ask you to fill out an assortment of forms that are important to ensure your privacy and confirm that you’ve understood our practice’s procedures and policies. You can also fill out the forms ahead of time by downloading them from our online patient portal. This initial meeting will take 45 minutes to an hour. In order to assess your particular needs, we will talk with you about your medical and family history as well as any record of psychiatric treatment.
Your Follow-Up Visit
The second meeting will last 30 minutes. When we meet the second time, we will further discuss your concerns and challenges. These include how well any medication you’re currently taking so that we can assess whether or not to adjust it or prescribe something else. After we have discussed both the risks and benefits of any changes, we will determine a care plan. We will always ensure you are fully informed as to the parameters of your treatment.
In addition to medication management, we actively encourage patients to eat healthy, exercise regularly, and take supplements if recommended. These are all elements of a successful treatment plan and play a key role in medication management. Additionally, during our follow-up meeting we will discuss whether there is a need to refer you to a psychiatric for additional treatment.
Every patient is unique and has unique challenges. We consider it a privilege to be entrusted with your care and work diligently to provide the highest quality services. Using our decades in the field of psychiatry and nursing, we apply what we have learned and work with you to educate and support you in your particular situation. We’re proud to have psychiatric partners we can refer you to as needed to provide you with additional help. Our goal is to assist you each step of the way. Let us get to know you—give us a call today!
