PERSONALIZED EXPERIENCE

OUR APPROACH

We believe in taking the time to get to know all of our clients individually. We spend 1 hour during our first appointment, creating an environment of trust and communication which fosters the best client outcome. My follow-up appointments are twice as long as other providers, cementing the collaborative relationship between the provider and client.

Get to know us!

We are a team of nurse practitioners (NPs) trained in personalized psychiatry. NPs are registered nurses who have received advanced training when it comes to diagnosing and treating illnesses. At Arcara Personalized Psychiatry, our team has over 30 years of combined experience in the field of Boston psychiatric care. We provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments. Our focus is assisting patients (primarily adult) with medication management. We also support our patients with disorders such as PTSD, anxiety/mood/panic/sleep disorders, and phobias, among others. Our job is to counsel you and support you. When needed, we will provide referrals to Boston psychiatrists we have a relationship with.

Conditions we specifically work with include:

What to Expect During Your First Visits

After you schedule an appointment with us, your first meeting will last approximately 45-60 minutes. During that time we will ask you to fill out HIPAA forms as well as several forms about confidentiality, privacy, and an acknowledgment that you understand and accept our policies and procedures. Those forms can be emailed to you so that you can fill them out ahead of time, if you’d prefer. During your first visit we will discuss your current needs and medical history, family history, and any psychiatric history or medication trials.

Your follow-up appointment will last 30 minutes. We’ll discuss any challenges you’re struggling with, along with how medication is or is not working for you. Based on our conversation, we will adjust your medication as needed or prescribe something. Before we prescribe anything or make any changes in your correct medication regimen, we will thoroughly discuss both the benefits and risks. Our goal is for you to be fully informed and involved in your psychiatric treatment. We always encourage our clients to exercise regularly and eat healthily and can provide information to help you do so. Over the years we have learned that clients benefit the most when they take their medication, follow a healthy lifestyle, take supplements as recommended, and commit to any addition psychotherapy as necessary.

Our goal is to work in tandem with our clients in order to provide the highest quality services and support to assist with whatever your particular challenge may be. It’s our privilege to work with clients and also a responsibility we don’t take at all lightly. Our many years of experience ensure that we have a wide breath of knowledge with which we can assess your individual situation and determine the best course of action moving forward, whether that’s working with us alone, or in tandem with a private psychiatrist we refer you to. Don’t hesitate to contact us for further information or any question you may have.
