Alana Kearney is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She was born and raised in Worcester Massachusetts before attending The Catholic University of America where she obtained her Bachelors of the Arts in Music and Psychology. While at CUA, she was a member of Psi Chi, the Psychology Honors Society, and Phi Beta Kappa. She returned to Worcester to attend Assumption College where she obtained her Masters of the Arts in Clinical Counseling Psychology.
Alana has worked as an individual therapist for adolescents and adults. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, ARC, and ARC Grow as treatments for a variety of mental health concerns. Throughout her experience as a clinician, she has worked with anxiety disorders, depressive and mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and ADHD.
Alana’s approach to therapy focuses on how one’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviors impact each other. She believes that in order to change one’s behaviors and emotions that interfere with daily functioning, one must identify and modify the negative thinking patterns about oneself, others, and the world. She works with clients to better understand how mental health impacts their daily life and how to make both cognitive and behavioral changes to improve their quality of life.
We believe in taking the time to get to know all of our clients personally, creating an environment of trust and communication.
